About the Event
14.00-15.00: Theology, Religious Studies and Christian History (John Wolffe, Open University). John Wolffe will survey the current landscape of Theology and Religious Studies in British higher education, drawing particularly on his experience as a panel member in REF2021 and as a Christian historian who has for the last 30 years been a member of the Religious Studies department/discipline at The Open University.
15.00-16.30: Interview and Q&A with historian Mark Noll (University of Notre Dame). Mark Noll is one of the world's leading authorities on the history of Christianity. David Bebbington will interview Nollabout the ways in which the landscape of the discipline has changed during the last half-century or so and the landmarks of his career. This will be followed by an extended Q&A with questions from other participants.
